Join us for a relaxed and welcoming Member Picnic on August 29, 2026, at the Bluff Lake Indoor Learning Center in Denver. This year, we’re excited to offer the event free of charge for members as a way to celebrate our community and encourage connection. Members are welcome to bring one non-member guest, and we kindly suggest a small donation from guests to help offset event costs. Drop in anytime between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM to enjoy good food, great company, and a chance to connect with fellow bird enthusiasts.
To make a full day of it, several volunteer-led morning bird walks will take place around the Denver area ahead of the picnic. These outings are a wonderful way to explore local habitats and meet others before gathering at Bluff Lake. Each walk is listed on our field trip page and managed by individual trip leaders, so be sure to check out the Field Trip Page if you’d like to join.
We’ll be gathering at the Bluff Lake Indoor Learning Center (11255 MLK Jr Blvd, Denver, CO 80238), where newly improved parking is available on site, with additional street parking nearby. Please plan to cross MLK at the Kingston crosswalk for safety. Lunch will be catered by Illegal Pete’s with bowl or taco options, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices (Please note they cannot garantee against cross-contamination). In the case of severe weather, a cancellation decision will be made 48 hours in advance and shared via email and social media; otherwise, we look forward to gathering rain or shine!
