Bird Bombs

Bird Bombs are short blasts of bird identification information designed to help you be a better birder. They drop via Zoom about twice a month and are free and open to the public. Find them on the list of Upcoming Programs wherever you see the label BIRD BOMBS before the title. Past Bird Bombs recordings can be found on the Past Programs page in order by date.

Monthly Programs

Meetings of the DFO membership happen eight times a year in August - November and January - April. Some programs feature speakers on a variety of topics and are presented via Zoom. Other meetings are in person only. These meetings are described in detail in each issue of The Lark Bunting and in On the Wing, our email newsletter. Selected videos of programs presented via Zoom are posted to the Past Programs page of this website.

Gear Up & Get Out Sale

DFO's annual membership meeting on Saturday, April 25 features a great new format this year. Members can donate their gently used birding gear for sale, browse the tables for new and used equipment, and plan their next birding adventure. Save the date!

Better Birding Skills Workshops

Better Birding Skills Workshops are designed to help birders acquire new skills to improve their ability to identify birds in the field. Workshops begin with a "classroom" session via Zoom and follow up field experiences to practice what is learned in the classroom. Look for BBS Workshops in the calendar of events to sign up.
