Better Birding Workshops

Better Birding Workshops are a new initiative of DFO to help people improve their birding skills. Workshops will focus on species identification, birdsong, the use of online birding tools, seasonal migration and other field topics. The DFO Knowledge and Learning Committee welcomes your ideas for future workshops.

Citizen Science

Community science is research and data gathering by community members. DFO promotes this public participation in scientific observation and study to help improve understanding of the birds we love to see and watch. Click on Learn More to find out about current DFO "comm-sci" projects and how you can participate, both on club-led trips or your own excursions into the field. Even if you don't officially volunteer for a project, the materials here can help you become a better birder.
