This online registration system allows you to review and electronically sign the Agreement if you do not have one on file. If you would prefer to manually sign a printable version of the Agreement, you may access it here, and present it to the leader before trip start. If you choose this option, please contact your leader to assure you are signed up for the trip.
Please note: Each person, including each family member choosing to sign the Agreement electronically must login and have a separate account so that the agreement is tied to the individual. If you are having difficulty with multiple logins, please contact us for assistance. *Minors: If participant is a minor, the minor’s parent or legal guardian must print out, review and sign a paper copy of the Agreement and present it to the leader before the trip start. Habitats to bird: Reservoir, Riparian
Join us as we explore the lakes and river at South Platte Park in Littleton. Year-round birds include kingfishers, woodpeckers, nuthatches, raptors, finches, herons and sparrows. Summer birds include warblers, egrets, catbirds, and flycatchers. At the end, an option to stop at the southwest parking lot to check on the Western Kingbird nest and to see some birds who enjoy the less-inviting part of the park with the freeway, storage facility, water pump equipment nearby. Our walk is approximately 2 miles on cement and dirt trails with no elevation gain. The bird walk is rated as moderate because we MAY cross a cement walkway with large boulders. No special equipment is required but expect some light scrambling if we choose this path. Trails can be muddy following precipitation. Bring binoculars, water, snacks, sunscreen and appropriate clothing layers. Scopes and cameras are welcome. A vault toilet restroom is available at the beginning of the walk near the parking area. This will be the only restroom and it will be our first stop once we leave the parking lot.
