This trip will focus on high elevation areas of Park County seeking some special birds, camping overnight. Details will be announced before the trip, but expect to visit areas such as Kite Lake, the Four Mile Creek Limber Pine grove, Weston Pass, Salt Creek and other areas. Highlights may include White-tailed Ptarmigan, Northern Goshawk, Pine Grosbeak, Gray Jay, as well a wide variety of nesting birds, and amazing scenery and wildflowers. Overnight at a forest service campground (fee). We will need to carpool as best we can in SUVs or other high clearance vehicles. If significant afternoon or nighttime storms are expected on Day 1 we may opt to cancel the overnight and Day 2. Register online or contact the leader.
