Meet Jessica Miller
I picked up birding in 2013 and learned quickly while working as a naturalist along the South Carolina coast. I moved to Colorado Springs in 2019 where I now supervise Fountain Creek Nature Center (come inside and tell me what birds I'm missing out there!). I lead the occational birding program at work and also lead monthly "Birds and Brews" outings with Aiken Audubon. I'm also co-chair for the Pikes Peak Birding nad Nature Festival each May in El Paso County.
On my own, my birding varies from hours-long hikes, road trips to chase a rarity, or even planning trips across the country for new birds. While leading others, I appreciate newbies I can share knowledge and excitement with as well as more experienced, serious birders who might find the 'good stuff' for me. When birding as a group, it's all about the team effort and having fun... but getting a great list and some personal goals for everyone is nice!
