Meet Bea Weaver
Hi! I started “watching” birds in Miami, but did not birdwatch seriously until I moved to Colorado in 2010. The Audubon Master Birder program was an awesome learning experience, and I have been leading bird trips ever since. Since I live in Roxborough, Roxborough State Park is a favorite birding area, as is Chatfield State Park, also nearby. I am also a Douglas County Open Space Volunteer. Actually any place with birds to look at is wonderful, including the mountains.
I enjoy hiking bird trips of up to 3 miles. This gives us various habitats which is important for finding a variety of birds. Beginning birders are always welcome, as I always enjoy sharing information about different species. In the winter raptors are a special interest, as well as hiking and hitting the slopes up in Summit County.
