Meet Matthew Hazelgren
I rekindled a childhood passion for nature by adopting wildlife photography during the pandemic. Within a year or two, I found myself reaching for bins far more often than my camera. A few of my favorite birds include kingfishers, owls, and rails. In addition to birding, I enjoy seeking out mammals, reptiles, and amphibians.
While primarily a lister, I enjoy a good local trip just to get outside and continue building my birding skillset. Most of my trips will be pre- or post-work outings easily accessible to the Denver Metro Area. I tend to seek out riparian habitat on these shorter outings, but also enjoy sampling a variety of habitat. Beyond birding, I enjoy scuba diving, backpacking, and playing sports.
