About Your Trip Leader

Meet Jordan Gerue

Jordan Gerue

I started birding during pandemic lockdown and what started as a hobby quickly spiraled into an obsession and life-long passion. The majority of my birding experience has been here in the Front Range and I love the great variety of birds we get to enjoy from plains to peaks in Colorado.

I am a guide for Denver Audubon and DFO and lead co-sponsored trips between the two organizations. Most of my trips are fairly short and relaxed, and often include social aspects such as coffee afterwards. With Denver Audubon I also lead trips focused on the LGBT and Spanish-speaking communities.

Meet Jason Bidgood

Jason Bidgood

My interest in birding grew out of a life-long interest in nature and natural history. I’ve been actively birding since 2015 and joined DFO a year later in 2016. Most of my birding experience has been patch birding in the Denver metro area. I enjoy birding year-round and getting to know the common birds.

An ideal field trip to me involves walking several miles over a few hours, taking time to observe interesting bird behavior. I prefer to lead smaller groups. I typically can't be out birding all day, so my trips will be on the shorter end of the spectrum. In addition to knowing the birds I also enjoy learning about geology, native plants and insects.
