Meet Susan Blansett
I became a birder in 1990, shortly after moving to CO. Eventually discovered DFO, CFO, Tuesday Birders and Evergreen Audubon, which amped up my education. My favorite bird is the one I'm looking at through my bins and I love exploring new areas wherever I go. I garden primarily for birds & bees, and feed birds year-round. Leading and participating in DFO field trips is a rush, and I like to learn from participants and other leaders.
I like to lead mostly walking trips of up to 4-5 miles in any season or habitat -- on the Front Range mostly, though I also enjoy a good mountain hike. My home patches include White Ranch Open Space, Tucker Gulch, Red Rocks and Prospect Park/Wheat Ridge Greenbelt.
