Meet Your Trip Leader
Mt. Falcon Park (Jefferson County)
6:00 AM - 11:00 AM
John Breitsch firstname.lastname@example.org or 303-588-0552
Trail Difficulty: Strenuous
Meet at upper parking lot of west side of Mount Falcon Park. From C-470 and U.S. 285 South, turn right at the Indian Hills exit to Parmalee Gulch Road. Follow Parmalee Gulch Road for approximately 2.5 miles to Picutis Road, turn right at Picutis, then follow the signs for Mt. Falcon to the upper parking area.
CASTLE TRAIL to WALKER'S DREAM TRAIL: At the end of the WD Trail there are fabulous views. Due to a wee bit of fog on the April trip, I am going to try this one again. We will explore ponderosa pine woodlands for nesting birds. We could see Cordilleran Flycatcher, Plumbeous Vireo, Mountain and Western Bluebird, three nuthatches, Western Tanager, etc.
As always with my trips, there will be an early portion for anyone that cares to join me. I will leave the parking lot at 4:00 AM and do a quick loop up to the Tower Trail and back. This will give an extra chance to listen for owls and grouse. Come for one portion or both. Register online or contact leader. Register online or contact the leader.
