8/31/2019      6:15 AM - 4:00 PM
Leader: Amber Carver   caramb22@gmail.com or 310-483-5721
Trail Difficulty: Easy
Directions
Meet at Colorado Parks and Wildlife, 6060 Broadway to carpool. Exit I-25 at 58th Ave, go west 2 blocks to Broadway, then north 2 blocks to parking lot on right.

This trip is limited to the first 12 registrations.

We will visit Crow Valley Campground and explore the west unit of the Pawnee National Grassland. Crow Valley is an important stopping point during migration, with 159 species recorded during the month of August. Although many grassland birds leave the Pawnee in the fall, both Chestnut-collared and McCown's Longspurs still occur there at the end of August. This trip will include a combination of car birding and birding on foot, guided by someone who has conducted ornithological research in the area and will take you to her favorite spots and share her knowledge of the ecosystem and local research and conservation efforts. Register online or contact the leader.
